Quality Control and Analysis Procedures

 We are required to pay extreme care and attention on Quality Control and Analysis Processes due to high cost imports from overseas countries. The Quality Control and Analysis Processes currently adopted by our company are as below;

1.   The producers start preparing the order after the products to be imported and the producer are decided on. When a certain amount of products is ready, the inspection specialist which we work in cooperation in the importing country pays a visit to the importer’s facility in order to examine the products and the production. These persons who are experts on aquaculture products and their inspection procedures prepare a detailed report to be submitted for our attention. Should the report results are negative then we request from the producer to stop the production and cancel the related order.

2.    We request from the producer to complete the production if the report is affirmative. The producer informs us upon the completion of the order for importing. On this stage the inspection specialist pays another visit to the facility and takes random samples among the products and sends the samples to worldwide accredited independent laboratories such as SGS for analyses.  Should the analyses turn out to be negative then the producer gets informed about the situation and the delivery gets cancelled.

3.   In case that the analysis results are affirmative, the Producer organizes the necessary arrangements in order to realize the imports of the final products. Majority of such kind of imports are being carried out by means of maritime transportation.

4.   Veterinary surgeons of the Ministry of Agriculture takes samples from the products delivered to Turkey within the Customs Area and send the samples to the laboratories accredited by the related Ministry for analysis. Containers or trucks are not allowed to leave the Customs Area before sample collection.

5.   Two different laboratories analyze the samples. Each imported fish product is subject to Dioxin Analysis and the samples taken from the products those received in Istanbul are being sent for Dioxin Analysis to Ankara Food Control Laboratory which serves within the body of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock which is located only in Ankara. The analyses other than the Dioxin Analysis are being carried out by the private laboratories accredited by the Ministry.

6.   Our Quality Control Staff control the products right after the delivery of the products to our cold store houses and the required examinations are carried out by collecting samples with Sampling Method and the approval for sales is granted accordingly.

7.    An intense imports process is being experienced until the approval for sales and then the products are being supplied to the market.
